Dog Head Hammer

3.5 lbs Dog Head Hammer. These guys are commonly known as the Japanese bladesmith’s hammer of choice. However dog head hammers have been found in viking graves as well. They purposely have an off-center eye, which some say helps align the hammer face to the workpiece mid swing. These guys are popular knifemaking hammers, especially for forging bevels. Whatever you wish to forge with it, they are sure to be a trusty companion at the forge.
